Souyoutei is a guesthouse built by relocating a century-old traditional house to a breathtaking location on Yakushima’s west coast, overlooking the volcanic island of Kuchinouranbe.
On the beach right in front, you can see sea turtles laying eggs and hatchlings emerging from May to August every year.
Following the sudden passing of the founder, damage from typhoons, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, operations were suspended after 2020.
In 2026, after undergoing a revitalization project, we have reopened for business
